Centro
Nueva Creacion depends upon its qualified and dedicated staff
and volunteers to ensure best practices in administering programs
to young people and their families.
BRADY
SANDERS, Executive Director
Brady
has been with Centro since 2002. What began as a volunteer
opportunity to teach photography to children grew into a full-time
position as an Educational Programs Director, and eventually,
the Executive Director of Centro.
Brady
has a Bachelor of Science in photography and an Master of
Science in education. She worked in the Philadelphia
school system for 2 years before accepting a full-time staff
position at Centro. Brady's leadership and dedication
to the community of North Philadelphia is one of Centro's
greatest assets. Brady is now the Director of The Community
Education and Employment Department (CEED) which oversees
Centro through the Lutheran Settlement House.
ANGELA
JUBINVILLE, Program Manager
Angela
served as an Americorp VISTA for Centro from August 2007-August
2008. As the Resource Developer, Angela was responsible
for fundraising and communications. She developed the
bi-annual newsletter and developed content for goodlands.org.
After her term as a VISTA she was promoted to Program Manager
of Centro.
Angela
has a Bachelor of Art in psychology and philosophy.
She volunteers for Women Organized Against Rape (WOAR) as
a crisis counselor.
IVETTE
MONTANEZ, General Education Teacher
Ivette
has been working at Centro since 2004. She has a part-time
staff position in the After School Program as the general
education teacher. In the Summer Camp Program Ivette
works full-time as the general education teacher. She
is bi-lingual, a community member, and has 3 children enrolled
in the program.
In
the spring of 2006 Ivette developed a sewing project in our
after school program that taught 15 girls aged 5-13 years
a pivotal component of their Latina heritage.
AUGUSTINA
WARTON, Americorp VISTA-Program/Development Coordinator
Augustina has been
serving as an Americorp VISTA for Centro since September 2008.
As the Program/Development Coordinator, Augustina is responsible
for fundraising and program development and evaluation for
the after school and summer programs.
Augustina was born
and raised in Massachusetts. She attended Temple Univeristy
and has a Bachelor of Art in Political Science and certificate
in community arts education. Augustina is passionate about
youth leadership and development and has worked in the Kensington
community for the past two years.
DONOVAN
YOUNG, Americorp VISTA-Youth Technology Coordinator
Donovan
has been serving as an Americorp VISTA for Centro since February
2008. As the Youth Technology Coordinator, Donovan is
responsible for developing curriculum for students related
to computers and internet research. He studied business
and finance at Temple University.
Donovan was born in
Kentucky, raised in Pittsburgh, and adopted by North Philadelphia.
Being one of the only male figures at Centro, the children
respond very well to his attention and positive energy.
